Therapy Physics Committee Task Group Reports Writing and Reviewing in the New Era: How Did We Get Here and Where We Need to Go

Description

Task Group (TG) reports are without any doubt one of the most important scientific deliverables of the AAPM. The number of TG reports especially under Therapy Physics Committee (TPC) has exponentially increased the last few year. However, challenges and complexities related to TG management, report preparation and writing and eventually report reviewing remain. This makes the entire process long and sometimes difficult to navigate. Newer members who actively propose TG reports have in most cases get into the "game' without a well-calibrated compass as leaders of a TG or authors or reviewers. This session will present the journey of TG reports all the way to today, expose the challenges and intricacies of a TG report and conclude with what a new era TG report should be and how to prepare it and review it. This session is directed to both young and senior members of our Association and can be viewed as an education update on this topic.
