Terms, Privacy, and Data Use
Version 2026-04-25. This page explains the rules for using AAPM Explorer and the data rights granted when an account is created.
Unofficial Status
AAPM Explorer is an independent, unofficial conference companion. It is not produced, endorsed, sponsored, reviewed, or operated by the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, the AAPM Annual Meeting, Confex, the Vancouver Convention Centre, or any conference organizer.
Official conference details should be verified through the AAPM Annual Meeting website and other official organizer channels.
Ownership and Anti-Copying Terms
The site code, interface, ranking logic, recommendations, derived analytics, normalized institution views, maps, data cleanup work, and non-public operational data are owned by the operator of AAPM Explorer or its licensors. You may use the site for personal conference planning only.
You may not copy, clone, scrape at scale, resell, frame, white-label, reverse engineer, remove attribution from, or use this service or its derived datasets to build a competing product without written permission.
Account Data and Commercial Use
When you create an account, you authorize AAPM Explorer to collect and use account data, identity details, affiliation, saved events, calendar choices, blocked time labels, profile matches, search activity, interaction logs, generated interest profiles, inferred topics, institution signals, and related usage data.
You grant AAPM Explorer a worldwide, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free license to process, analyze, enrich, combine, commercialize, sell, license, and disclose that data and derived profiles to conference organizers, exhibitors, vendors, sponsors, analytics partners, advertising partners, and potential acquirers, subject to applicable law.
This may include targeted sponsorship placements, attendee or institution-level audience segments, vendor lead lists, product-interest profiles, traffic reports, saved-session analytics, and other commercial conference intelligence. Sensitive data and legally protected categories will be handled as required by applicable law.
Sponsored Advertising Content
AAPM Explorer may display paid sponsor cards, promoted listings, vendor messages, calls to action, and other advertising content. These placements may be targeted by contextual signals such as abstract text, title, author profile content, institution profile content, program, category, keywords, taxonomy terms, saved-session context, page type, and related conference metadata.
Sponsored placements are advertising, not editorial recommendations, scientific endorsements, medical advice, official conference guidance, AAPM-approved content, or endorsements of the sponsor, product, service, claims, quality, safety, effectiveness, regulatory status, or suitability for any use. Sponsor cards will be labeled with advertising language such as Sponsored, Ad, Advertisement, or Sponsored Advertising Content, but the visual format may match the surrounding app interface.
AAPM Explorer may record ad impressions, clicks, destination URLs, timestamps, page context, referrer information, account identifiers for logged-in users, and aggregate performance reports. These records may be used for billing, fraud prevention, reporting to sponsors, campaign optimization, and measuring sponsor engagement.
Advertisers are responsible for the accuracy, substantiation, legality, regulatory status, and required disclosures for their own claims, products, services, pricing, offers, and destination pages. AAPM Explorer may reject, edit, pause, remove, throttle, or label sponsor content when it appears misleading, unsafe, poorly targeted, noncompliant, or inconsistent with the user experience.
Regulated Content and Health Data
The app is not intended to receive patient data, protected health information, DICOM files, clinical images, identifiable case details, payment information, or other regulated records. Do not upload, paste, or enter PHI or patient-identifying information into AAPM Explorer.
Advertising for medical, imaging, software, research, clinical-trial, data-processing, or healthcare-adjacent products must avoid deceptive claims and must include any disclosures, limitations, approvals, warnings, or qualifications required by applicable law. Sponsor content does not create a HIPAA business associate relationship, clinical relationship, professional relationship, or product endorsement by AAPM Explorer.
Privacy Choices and Legal Limits
The commercial rights above are intended to be broad, but they do not waive rights that cannot legally be waived. Where applicable law requires notice, opt-out, deletion, correction, access, or separate consent, AAPM Explorer will provide legally required controls or respond to valid requests.
Where applicable privacy laws treat ad targeting, sharing, sale, profiling, sensitive data, or cross-context behavioral advertising as regulated activity, AAPM Explorer will use legally required notices, limits, consent flows, opt-out mechanisms, or other controls. Contextual ads based only on the page being viewed may still appear after privacy opt-outs unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Do not enter information you are not comfortable having analyzed for conference discovery, sponsorship targeting, ad measurement, or commercial analytics.
Accuracy and Availability
The app is provided for discovery and personal scheduling. Program data, rooms, times, speaker information, recommendations, and navigation guidance may be incomplete, delayed, wrong, or out of date. Always verify critical conference details with official sources.
Liability
The service is provided as-is and as-available. To the maximum extent allowed by law, AAPM Explorer disclaims warranties and is not liable for lost opportunities, missed sessions, inaccurate recommendations, data loss, business interruption, indirect damages, or claims arising from unofficial program information.
Changes
These terms may change as the product evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms. Material changes to data use will be handled as required by applicable law.
