Session Invited Program Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Physics

ACR Updates for Imaging Physicists

Description

This session will feature 3-5 presentations from ACR member-volunteers who lead ACR committees or programs. At present, the following initiatives are likely to be useful as presentations to the audience at AAPM 2026. The ACR continues to develop a pathway in the Dose Index Registry to accommodate a controversial CMS quality measure, which, despite its limitations, is attractive as an option for some radiology practices. Other presentations will include changes in accreditation programs including dedicated presentations on QC manuals for nuclear medicine, PET, and mammography-guided breast biopsy. Other presentations will include highlights from other ACR programs and initiatives, including recent advocacy wins and challenges.
